The story
Kerrier District Council wanted to raise awareness of renewable energy to staff and visitors at their offices whilst reducing their carbon footprint and generating their own electricity on site. The PV system was installed by Plug into the Sun, Dulas’ award winning installer for the South West region. The recycled plastic “SunMount” solution was simple and quick to install. A visual LED display in the reception area of the council offices lets everyone know how much electriciy the system has generated and how much CO2 it has saved.
This installation has set a precedent for other councils and public buildings to do their bit for the planet. It means that they can generate their own electricity on site and provide an educational resource to encourage people in the area to do the same.
